Tom Wong was born and raised in California. He began his career in law enforcement before founding several businesses in security and aviation.
Today, as CEO of The Town Hall News, he leads a trusted platform delivering honest, reliable reporting to Alameda County.

Tom Wong brings over 25 years of entrepreneurial and public service experience
In 2012, he founded Red Dragon Private Security, providing uniformed armed and unarmed security, vehicle patrol, and surveillance services throughout the Bay Area. In 2020, he went on to establish the Special Weapons and Tactics Academy, training individuals in firearm proficiency using modern tactics, techniques, and simulation-based instruction.
Alongside his business ventures, Tom has remained deeply engaged in civic and political leadership. He currently serves as the elected AD-20 Chairman of the Alameda County Republican Party, a role reflecting his long-standing commitment to community representation and public accountability.
In April 2025, Tom launched The Town Hall News, bringing together his background in security, law enforcement, and civic leadership to build a platform dedicated to transparent, reliable reporting for the residents of Alameda County.
Education
A Lifelong Commitment to Learning: Tom's Journey from Law Enforcement Training to a Master of Laws
Tom Wong is currently pursuing a Master of Laws (LLM) at the University of London, having begun the program in May 2026. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Newlane University, completed in 2026. His earlier academic background includes coursework in Commercial Aviation and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) at the University of North Dakota, and in Aviation/Airway Management and Operations at Utah Valley University. Tom began his academic journey with an Associate of Arts in Administration of Justice from Skyline College, and completed Peace Officer Standard Training at the College of San Mateo in 1997.
